Blog: What’s Your Superpower?

Now that the winners have been awarded their medals, the torch extinguished and the athletes have returned to their home countries, what are we left with from the 30th Olympic Games?

The heroic accomplishments of swimmer Michael Phelps; the triumph of Oscar Pistorius, a.k.a. the “The Blade Runner”;  the dramatic breakthrough bronze medal of the Canadian Women’s Soccer Team… Each of these is an example of the extraordinary achievements that are possible for human beings when we hold a bold and inspiring vision for our life.

You are gifted with the same ” superpower” these Olympic athletes have for creating what you really want in life.  The only difference between us “regular folks” and them is that they have a strategy for success, one that they have practised over and over again to the point of mastery:  Visualization. You, too, can make your dreams happen in reality when you know the steps to visualizing your goals.

Here are The 5 Basic Steps to Visualization:

Relax – Imagine – Feel – Believe – Let Go.

Step 1:  Relax. Find a quiet, comfortable seat, breathe deeply and steadily.  Empty your mind and relax your body from head to toe.  Focus again on your breath for a few moments, the rise and fall of your chest, and allow yourself to come into the present moment.

Step 2:  Imagine. Now, think about what it is you want.  A knock-your-socks off relationship;  a new home where you can live, love and thrive;  satisfaction and happiness in your career;  a holiday in a tropical paradise…  Don’t be afraid to think bigger and in more detail than you ever have before.  Create mental images and bring  them to life as if watching a movie.  Indulge all your senses:  see it, feel it, hear it, taste it, smell it.  No detail is too small for the Universe to handle.

Step 3:  Feel. Next, create the positive emotion associated with having what you desire manifested in your life.  Feel it NOW, in the present moment.  You will be surprised by the ease with which you can generate contentment, peace, freedom, excitement, happiness and joy!

Step 4.  Believe. Trust yourself and the vision you are creating. “Whatever your mind can conceive and believe it can achieve.” (Napoleon Hill).  Even when you are frustrated and “having a bad day”, stay the course and affirm that the next day you will wake up excited, with renewed energy to make your goals happen.

Step 5.  Let Go. This final step seems paradoxical but cannot be emphasized enough.  Your job is to imagine what you want, including all the details.  Then, simply detach yourself from the outcome you intend.  Whenever you are attached to something there is a kind of mental gripping and emotional desperation that strips yourself of your authentic power to create the life you choose.  Instead, be open, grateful and allow yourself to receive the abundance the Universe is sending your way.

Set aside a time each day for your creative visualizations, preferably once in the morning and once in the evening before sleep and practice, practice, practice.  *Remember:  all your good ideas mean absolutely nothing unless you make them happen in reality…

…so follow up on your visualizations by taking powerful actions that are in alignment with the goals you set out to achieve.

As you master this simple 5-step process, you will see your life transform in miraculous ways!  Let me know the results you get for yourself and your life – I love to hear from you.

Wishing you love, happiness and success in all things!
